WHALE is seeking nominations and inquiries from those interested in joining our Board of Directors as part of our 2024 class. Our directors have the primary responsibility of governing the organization but very involved and invested in the projects, mission, and work of WHALE. With a new strategic plan in process, the guidance, involvement and support of our board members is more essential than ever as is their commitment to the New Bedford community.
Directors serve a minimum of three years, and a maximum of nine (three consecutive three-year terms). The board meets monthly, and all trustees serve on at least one committee, which also meets at various times throughout the month. We are seeking committed detail-oriented, self-motivated persons to join our organization for this new chapter.
Do you have experience with:
Budget management for non-profits
Experience with community organizations
Educational program planning
Construction or architectural resource knowledge
Interest in historic preservation or community planning
Real estate development and related legal practices
Familiarity with digital media and advertising for non-profits
