WHALE is excited to announce that our donors can benefit from a credit of $150,000 for the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC), from the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).. The award was announced by State Rep Antonio Cabral on Wednesday, April 4th, and will be used to help raise private support for our ongoing and upcoming restoration projects. More information on the 2018 CITC award can be found here.
WHALE as a Community Development Corporation can leverage Community Investment Tax Credits from the state to encourage donors to help build communities, improve places, and transform lives. These credits help fund ongoing projects like the restoration of First Baptist Church, the affordable housing project at 149 Allen Street, and the new Co-Creative Center at 137 Union Street in downtown New Bedford.
Individual and Corporate donors who donate to WHALE will receive a state tax credit equal to 50% 0f a donation of $1,000 or more.
