WHALE is pleased to welcome Historic Preservation students from Roger Williams University’s graduate level Interdisciplinary Planning Workshop to New Bedford to assess the condition of several vacant downtown buildings. As part of their coursework, each student must study the building in question and prepare a condition assessment that can be used by future developers to stabilize the structure and bring it back to life. Their course instructor is WHALE’s own Teri Bernert, who is coordinating their first experience of field work and helping to prepare a new generation of preservationists. Check back later to follow along with this project.
