A Connecticut man recently found a bible with connections to the family of Henry Martyn Robert, creator of Robert’s Rules of Order and member of New Bedford’s Historic First Baptist Church! Click here to read more, or here to learn more about the ongoing restoration of FBC.
First Baptist Steeple Removal
On October 10th, a little after 9 AM, the steeple atop historic First Baptist Church was removed from the building and brought safely down to ground level. This is to allow stabilization and restoration to proceed on the supporting posts. If you weren’t in the vicinity of William Street that day, enjoy the pictures below!
