On March 31, WHALE held our fourth Historic Homeowner Workshop with a Zoom titled “Show Me The Money: Funding for Historic Homeowners”.
The presentation also served as a public introduction of our latest project – a revolving loan fund for owners older and historic homes in New Bedford. Called The Open Door Loan Program, the intent is to provide homeowners with financial support to take on exterior projects that repair, maintain and preserve their historic homes. The program also comes with free technical assistance, guidance and support from WHALE throughout the project and flexibility with the lending terms.
The program will begin accepting expressions of interest mid-April and hopefully move on making our first few loans by the end of the year. More details will be shared in the coming weeks, including criteria, terms and FAQ’s.
